Synopsis: Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion... she believes in costume. The more expensive the outfit - the more sparkly, more fun, more wild - the better. And life is pretty close to perfect in Lola's world, especially with her hot rocker boyfriend. That is, until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood and unearth a post to hurt and anguish that Lola thought was long buried. When talented inventor Cricket steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

My Thought

The story was....nice but, yeah there's a but in this story compare the other two novels - Anna and the French Kiss and Isla and the Happily Ever After. I'm hoping that I would love this novel as much as I have loved the other two, umm..unfortunately, I didn't love it as much as it supposed to received my love for it.

Plotline

The plot of the story was great, I love the way she writes in each of her novels. It was fantastic! It just that it wasn't as what I expect it to be. and I'm pretty sad about it. But one thing for sure, she has nail, in terms of, giving me as a reader - angry towards the character in this story. Though how much I hate Lola but somehow I love her. Complicated, much?

Character

Lola? She is just... I don't know what to say... This girl, she definitely succeeds in making me mad! I feel like slap her hard on her face..like "come on girl! Aren't you realize that guy loves you? The other guy that happened to be your boyfriend, didn't love you like you did?" Oh my god! She's a really seventeen-year-old girl, who is still a teenager, who doesn't know what should she do. and yeah, I do understand that. She is still trying to figure out who is really in her heart and what she really wants.

Cricket? I don't know. He live has been overshadowed by his own twin sister's that is kind of controlling his life. He is in love with Lola but has been standing down because he knows, Lola has a boyfriend. He is worth to be Lola's boyfriend! He just nice, sweet, lovely and know how to capture Lola's family and friends heart. That's what I really love about Cricket! Come on, don't you want your boyfriend/husband to be close to your family and know who is your close friend, I mean, knowing they exist as your close friends in your life?

Max? This guy is the most person I hated in this novel. His is a jerk. I don't know I kind of feeling that he is just wanted to be played with Lola's heart. It just he doesn't really sincerely love Lola and respect Lola and try to get close with her family and friends. He just wanted her, take her away from everyone around her.

The fact that I have said that I don't love this story as much as I love the other two, but still, it is a nice story and it is based on your perceptions and point of view about the book. So, this is my opinion. That's that.

Anyway, let's discover the quote from the book that I found;

"Because that's the thing about depression. When I feel it deeply, I don't want to let it go. It becomes comfort. I wan to cloak myself under its heavy weight and breathe it into my lungs. I want to nurture it, grow it, cultivate it. It's mine. I want to check out with it, drift asleep wrapped in my arms and not wake up for a long time."
"There are some people in life that you can't get over with."
"I know you aren't perfect. But it's a person's imperfections that make them perfect for someone else."
"-Stephanie Perkins, Lola and the Boy Next Door"

The fact that I said about the book, I still enjoy reading it, it is a nerve-wracking novel, I must say, I think that is what we feel when we were teenagers before if you have a boyfriend in that particular time. I do have a boyfriend but only after I graduated high school.

Anyway, this is strictly my opinion wasn't based on any other opinion. Thus, you have to read it, to see how do you feel about it by yourself, just don't get influenced by my review. :)
