Amy Curry is not looking forward to her summer. Her mother decided to move across the country and now it's Amy's responsibility to get their car from California to Connecticut. The only problem is, since her father died in a car accident, she isn't ready to get behind the wheel. Enter Roger. An old family friend, he also has to make the cross-country trip - and has plenty of baggage of his own. The road home may be unfamiliar - especially with their friendship venturing into uncharted territory - but together, Amy and Roger will figure out how to map their way.

I'm so looking forward to reading this book. So, when I received an email from RivetedLit said that this book is on their free reading for this week, I was freaking excited. I heard many many good things, thus I start reading immediately.

Let me give an overview of this about a book. Well, Amy having a difficult time of what had happened to her father and when her mother decided to bring Amy's twin brother to rehab while she moved to Connecticut and Amy is left behind at their old house in California. And then her mother informs Amy she needs a car that she left behind in California, so she wants Amy & Roger brings the car to her. Hence, she has a prepared itinerary for Amy & Roger. That's when their road trip adventure starts but instead followed her mother itinerary, they decided to take another roadway different from what her mother has a plan for them.

Roger has his own plan in his mind which he wants to meet his ex-girlfriend to actually solve whatever needs to be solved between the two of them. While Amy, she wants to go to a place where she and her dad has been to also to a place where her dad has to make a plan for a road trip for all of them to go but it didn't happen, so Amy wants to visit the place.


Plot

I have a high expectation on this book however, it kind of has disappointed me. The road trip was great, I get to know each of the states that been mention in the book, the way the author describes is so amazing that I can imagine it by myself as if I'm at that place. Thumbs up for that. Though it's a little bit slow but I could tolerate that because of the amazing adventure.

There are also flashback between Amy & her father of what actually happened and before it has happened.

Character

There is Amy & Roger but the chemistry between these two is a little bit off but somehow towards the end, they finally realized they have fallen in love with each other but that isn't much.

All in all, there's nothing I can say about it since I was so sad that I couldn't love this book as much as anyone else. This is only me who felt like this, not you but me. I suggest that you should read on your own to know whether you like it or not. Certainly, I won't give up from reading any Morgan Matson's book because I love her writing so much. It just I don't really enjoy this book.
