It's Christmas Eve at JFK in NYC.

Charlotte is a Bristish student, waiting for a flight home after the worst semester of her life. Anthony is a native New Yorker, surprising his girlfriend at the airport after three months apart. Charlotte has just been dumped, and Anthony is about to be dumped, right in the middle of the holiday crowd.

Charlotte's flight is canceled when a blizzard blows in, and Anthony can't bear to go home. So, they set out into the city together, clutching a book Charlotte picks up in the airport gift shop: Ten Easy Steps for Getting Over Your Ex. For this one night, they'll focus on healing their broken hearts..together.

Step by step, the two struggle to put the past behind them. But the snow enchanting, and the holiday lights are so beguling, that soon their shared misery gives way to something else. Soon, they're not only over their exes --- they're falling for each other.

Then a subway ride splits them up by mistake. Will they reunite before Charlotte's flight leaves New York forever?
review

Kiss Me in New York is about two people whose heart is broken by the person they thought will be the love of their life. Somehow, the two of them met at the airport and after what had happened, they go for one night adventure by referring to the books - Ten Easy Steps for Getting Over Your Ex.

First of all, this is my first time reading a novel written by Catherine Rider. It is a very light contemporary reading. The adventure both of the main character embarks to - is wonderful. I love how they follow the tips from the book that Charlotte has.

How at first the two main character - Anthony and Charlotte were very awkward to each other. There is no relation nor love at the moment except sharing the same heartbroken cause by the person they thought would be the love of their life. Even how awkward they are at first, somehow through the journey they are taking together, they start to be really comfortable.

The plot of the story flows at a good pace. The only conflict occurs in the book was the moment when Charlotte went to a party organized by her so-called a friend, I thought) who right now is in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend. But that was that. I'm hoping she could stand for herself. I do understand she is trying to move on but you know, you need to show how strong you are. That's what I want from the book, to be honest.

Overall, it's good reading. I truly enjoy the adventure from both of them on how to get over of your ex. I do know it is hard but eventually, you will able to overcome it and live your life happily meeting someone who is worth your time and truly loves you for who you are.

  5. You know, this kind of broken heart feeling can somehow changed someone to be very withdrawn and introspective. May God heal all who are hurting. P/s: I'm going to add this book to my TBR.
