Fire's Kiss is quick and fast reading. You can read it in one sitting but I did that in 4 sitting because I was busy with something else. Anyhow, the story begins with Embyr - a half human and half-demon - living as a human for so long that she did forget how to use her power. More like, she enjoys living as a human, didn't have to worry about other things other than her job. While Ryder McLennon or mostly knowns as Death's Horsemen. Rumors told that he killed anyone without any sympathy. He is ice cold with only one in his mind to fight a vampire that has to cause his life a mess, a far mess that you can ever imagine.
I like Embyr's character. She is strong despite what happened to her parents - were killed. In her mind, she needs to be strong and fight to live a comfortable life. Never been in love but when she is falling in love, she falls hard. Though if I'm in her shoes, I might ignore that man but Embyr is a sweet girl and sarcastic herself, still she accepts him again and again. When she fights the vampire, she fights hard. No one knows how powerful she can be. Everything around her will turn into a speck of dust. She is a fire herself.
Ryder - he is a beast but with a beautiful heart. I hate his character but at the same time, I like his character. Well, it is because sometimes he acts like he the most annoying "beast" ever but his action said otherwise. He success in unlocking the power hidden deep in Embyr's herself.
Anyhow, I love the relationship between Embyr and Ryder. Their relationship starts rough, somehow their chemistry has made them strong day by day.
Fire's Kiss is a paranormal fantasy that has action, a romantic scene of the two main characters, amazing friendship, and adventure. The writing has flow beautifully with starting slow and then quicken its pace and slow back and the ending is perfectly written which I am quickly engrossed deep with the story and feeling satisfied after finish reading them yesterday.
So, if you are into paranormal fantasy with some demons and vampires. I guess you might enjoy this book. Definitely, I am looking forward to next Brittany Pate's book in the future. I love her writing!
