Okay. This is honestly by far my absolute difficult to write a review for a book I have just finished.
The cover is undeniably beautiful that I am so attracted to it although yellow isn't my thing, however, this an exceptional.
I have no idea how should I begin. As I skim through other people's review - many of them love this book so much and some of them not and that being said, I am under 'some of them not' like this book. I really trying hard to like The Pisces because I saw the review said, "it's really good" but I couldn't bring myself to like it. I put the book down like a few times thinking whether or not should I continue reading or DNF them and I choose to continue because who knows I might find any likes from the book.
One of the quote that I like in The Pisces is;
"You had to never get attached to any other person or expect anything good to come to you, and that was how you fell in love with life and how maybe certain fun and good thing could happen to you." - The Pisces, Melissa Broder.
Despite being annoyed with it, I can see the honest and raw of Lucy's character. How she is very self-conscious with herself, what she feels/thinks and how should she decide it. Since this is from Lucy's perspective so we can understand her on that part. How she struggled in her life, to move on from her ex-boyfriend, the love and lust in her life.
However, the merman? That was weird and...I don't like it at all. I don't know what to say on that part. So..yeah. And, I was really sorry for Dominic the dog. OMG!! It is just really heartbreaking!!
Overall, the sex scenes are just kind of too much on the descriptions. I appreciate for anyone who enjoys this book more than I did, unfortunately, this may not for me.
