Synopsis

In a sealed-off city, it begins with a hunt. A young woman, Lena, running for her life, convicted of being a mage and sentenced to death. Her only way to survive is to trust those she has been brought up to fear - those with magic.

On the other side of the locked gates is a masked lady, Constance, determined to find a way back in. She knows only too well how the people of Duke's Forest loathe magic. Years ago she escaped before her powers were discovered. But now she won't hide who she is any longer.

A powerful and terrifying storm cloud unites them. It descends over the dukedom and devastates much in its wake. But this is more than a thunderstorm. This is a spell, and the truth behind why it has been cast is more sinister than anyone can imagine ... Only Lena and Constance hold the key to destroying the spell. Though neither of them realise it, they need each other. They are the blood and they have the thunder within.

A fantasy novel is a genre that I am so looking forward to reading. I am so anticipated to read this one as soon it arrived in my hand with the beautiful book cover, it totally captivated me. Let me brief you a bit about this book.

The two has been on the run. One is finding a way to be back into Duke Forest (Constance) and another is running for her life after the people convicted her as a mage (Lena).

“Whenever she held the butterfly, she remembered how she had felt the night she'd found it - or rather, the night it found her." Kesia Lupo, We Are Blood And Thunder

The premise of the story is really interesting. The magic, power? Yes, game on. I'm totally up for it. I am so excited, to begin with, it. I like the setting of the story and there's this guy name the Justice who is a rumor to be controlling Duke Forest. The most important is the two main characters who are holding the key to destroying the spell in Duke Forest.

In spite of that, sadly, there are a few times, I realize that I couldn't connect to the story and with the two main characters. I was so sad because of that eventually, it does not stop from continue reading. It is all because I really need to know who is behind the storm cloud and how it going to be stop and who is the mastermind. Seriously, that's what makes me keep going with the story.

Overall, the story is really intriguing with the power, magic, mages, storm cloud and. I am so want to love it, like really love the story so much, however, I will only going to like it and that's all. However, I did think might be I pick this book at a wrong time because I was falling into a reading slump this few weeks which I think I want to try to pick this book up again in the future. Who knows I actually going to love it. I want to give this book a second chance.
