FIVE EXTRAORDINARY ORPHANS. ONE INCREDIBLE MYSTERY.
UNLOCK THE SECRETS OF THE WINTERBORNE HOME FOR VENGEANCE AND VALOUR

When 11-year-old April joins a group of kids living at Winterborne Home she doesn't expect to be there for very long. But she soon learns that this home isn't like any of the others - especially when she unearths the secret of the missing-and-presumed-dead billionaire, Gabriel Winterborne, who is neither missing nor dead but is actually living in a basement lair, sharpening his swords and looking for vengeance.

Now that April knows Gabriel Winterborne is alive, she must turn to the other orphans to keep him that way. As a looming new danger threatens to take Gabriel down once and for all, they must use their individual talents to find a way to make sure this home for misfits isn't lost to them for ever.

Because at the Winterborne Home, nothing is what it seems, no one is who they say they are and nowhere is safe. And now a ragtag group of orphans must unravel the riddle of a missing heir, a supposed phantom and a secret key, all without alerting the adults of Winterborne House that trouble is afoot.

The first book in a captivating new series from the bestselling author of Gallagher Girls.

I have seen many readers enjoy books written by Ally Carter that makes so excited to read a book by her and this is my first time reading a book written by Ally Carter. That being said, Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Valour is really fun with a mix of adventure and mystery. I love it!
The story follows with April lives in an orphanage house for quite sometimes. She believes that one day her mother will come to take her back home. Way before that, April's mother has given her a necklace with a key's pendant so when she follows the trip to the museum, she saw a box that could fit her key but somehow, a fire start to blast which only she woke up at a hospital and a woman from Winterbourne's house come to pick her to live at Winterborne Home. Soon after living at the new home, she learns a secret which in needs to unravel.
It was a quick, joyful reading I read in two sittings. The more you get to catch up with the story, with all the secrets, the more you find it hard to stop. In short, it is unputdownable, fast-paced (although, there are some parts that are quite slow), and engaging. I love all the characters and the plots. Overall, it was a wonderful read and enjoyable. I'm sure kids going to enjoy it more.
