Seventeen-year-old Iris Hollow has always been strange. Something happened to her and her two older sisters when they were children, something they can’t quite remember but that left each of them with an identical half-moon scar at the base of their throats.

Iris has spent most of her teenage years trying to avoid the weirdness that sticks to her like tar. But when her eldest sister, Grey, goes missing under suspicious circumstances, Iris learns just how weird her life can get: horned men start shadowing her, a corpse falls out of her sister’s ceiling, and ugly, impossible memories start to twist their way to the forefront of her mind.

As Iris retraces Grey’s last known footsteps and follows the increasingly bizarre trail of breadcrumbs she left behind, it becomes apparent that the only way to save her sister is to decipher the mystery of what happened to them as children.

The closer Iris gets to the truth, the closer she comes to understanding that the answer is dark and dangerous – and that Grey has been keeping a terrible secret from her for years.

How can I say? This book is certainly mind-blown. I wasn't expecting that to be happen but it is!

The story follows with 3 sisters who went missing when they were child and came back about a month later. What even strange is that; they don't remember a thing and they have no idea or explanations about their disappearance. Their physical appearance like their hair color starts to change. Their father felt something is not right with his children. He is certain that they are not his children although they have the same looks as his children. As they grown up, Grey and Vivi decided to move out from the house and only Iris left with their mother. However, soemthing happened to Grey which make Vivi and Iris on the move tracing their sister while a mysterious man start following them everywhere.

The start of the book is a bit slow. I'm still trying to figure out the situation of the story. Flipping through pages the plot start to build up, things starting to get intense and I'm getting excited to explore and to pick out the clues together with Iris and Vivi. A fast paced dark fantasy that grips you hard and the twist is really mind-blown like you can't expect it at all like I have to put the book down for few minutes trying to calm myself down. But I need to warn you, it was horrid for a few scene.

It was a great read, well-written and I enjoy the paced of  the story. The characters are likable. Even how much I like, there are things that is a bit draggy and I was so sad of what had happened to Tyler. Anyway, House of Hollow was an amazing read.

House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland is available at all good bookstores.
