In this romantic and heartwarming novel, two strangers meet in chance circumstances during a blizzard and spend one perfect evening together, thinking they’ll never see each other again. But fate seems to have different plans.
On a snowy evening in March, 30-something Noelle Butterby is on her way back from an event at her old college when disaster strikes. With a blizzard closing off roads, she finds herself stranded, alone in her car, without food, drink, or a working charger for her phone. All seems lost until Sam Attwood, a handsome American stranger also trapped in a nearby car, knocks on her window and offers assistance. What follows is eight perfect hours together, until morning arrives and the roads finally clear.
The two strangers part, positive they’ll never see each other again, but fate, it seems, has a different plan. As the two keep serendipitously bumping into one another, they begin to realize that perhaps there truly is no such thing as coincidence. With plenty of charming twists and turns and Lia Louis’s “bold, standout voice” (Gillian McAllister, author of The Good Sister), Eight Perfect Hours is a gorgeously crafted novel that will make you believe in the power of fate.

Review
Eight perfect hours is a story that follows Noelle Butterby who just came back from a college reunion somehow on her way home, she was stuck on the road as the traffic was so bad and her mobile phone was out of battery. There she encounters a stranger who offered to help her to charge her phone so she agreed and stays in the car with the guy. Eight hours with him has slowly developed into someone she is comfortable speaking with however when the traffic has free everything back to normal. Will, she going to meet him again?
Louis has written an emotionally moving story which I did teared up from time to time while reading the book. It is a beautiful story. Despite I disagreed with some of Noelle's decision-making but to think, if I'm in her shoes I might do what she did too. So, yeah it just makes me think about how I decide during my past relationship and I'm glad it is over. Sam is adorable. I like his character. Both of them have gone through a lot throughout their life and I like how they connect and understand each other wonderfully. The fact that they keep on bumping into each other..well, doesn't that sounds like fate?
I love Eight Perfect Hours as it is not centered only on romance but it is so much more. It is about finding yourself which really warms me up and has given me a lot of things to think about myself. Love the characters and the story. I enjoy a slow burn, comforting story. Hence, I recommended this book for you to read.
