Review

Look at that cover. It is so beautiful that I can't stop staring at it! One of the big reason why I'm so attracted to read this book immediately after I received it. Aside from the beautiful cover, the fact that I saw many people shared on Instagram which the book has a friends-to-lover troupe that has caught my attention. Anything in regards to that troupe, please count me in!

So the story follows with Poppy and Alex has been best friends since in college. They have been everywhere together  especially visiting other states/countries. They do understand each other. They may live away from each other but eventually, they will make time for a trip together no matter how. However, things happened. They were out from each other life for two years. For that two years have been apart, Poppy do feel something is lacking in her heart like she can be happy enough after those 2 years no communication with Alex. She realize she be longing for Alex and how happy she is when she is with Alex. thus, she decided to plan a trip with Alex to fix their relationship and see how it is going between the two of them.

"...she told me that sometimes, when you lose your happiness, it's best to look for it the same way you'd look for anything else."

I like how Emily brought us in to the story from the present to the past like a flashback so we can see how their relationship develop and what happened throughout their friendship years. That make it easy for me to follow their story line. You know, the friends-to-lover troupe which I have been looking forward to? I...somehow..it just fell flat with me. I don't know how, I don't know why. Have I put high expectation on this? Could be? But honestly, I'm just tired with the interaction between the two of them. Like where's the fun trip? Where's the fun communication? I felt like come on just give some hint to each other! Bantering or something? Like that took way too long to finally be in each other life. 

To be honest, I love their friendship. They both have different personality but they are comfortable with each other. However, I feel something is lacking between them when they convert their friendship to a lover. It feels like there's no love chemistry between both of them. I mean it felt empty. I mean it took really long to finally both of them confess their love. I'm just tired. I really really do want to love this book so much. I mean I read the other book by Emily Henry but unfortunately this one does not work well with me.
