Meet Alexis. Her Grandpa's memories have been shattered.

The only cure? Memory Glue.
To brew it, she'll just need a few ingredients:

Like, nose hair from a baku (dream-eater), sweat from a duyung (sea siren) and...

OK. Maybe some of the stuff can be tricky to find in local supermarkets.

To obtain them Alexis must journey to an enchanted land called Mist, where the
fabled creatures from Grandpa's folktales are alive in the flesh. Many of whom aren't strict vegetarians.

Oh, and there's a deadline. The items must be gathered by Spring, else Grandpa's memories will be gone for good.

At least she'll have company: the nasty kenit (forest imp) who'd cast the horrible
spell on Grandpa, and her stern Grandma, who harbours a secret that will change
Alexis' life forever...

Piece of cake, right?

Review

Mist Bound really remind of my grandpa. I miss him the way he is used to be before dementia take over. Whenever I came to visit his house, he always has this enchanting story to tell from the old Malay movie to the Hindustan to a horror and the most is the funniest story. I remember still the story he tell.

"There's only no hope if you don't even try. Like your grandpa says, not everything that you face can be changed, but most everything can't be changed until they are faced."

Mist Bound is a story follows with Alexis who stay with her grandparents when her parents went to work overseas. Her grandpa always has a beautiful story to share with her and then one day, something happened which cost her grandpa's memory lost. Together with her grandma, they both need to find a cure to recover grandpa's memory. Through this adventure she discover lots of things she didn't know about her grandma and get to visit magical place she never thought she would.

I, certainly enjoy Mist Bound to the fullest. I love all the mythical folklore from Southeast Asia in the story, love the adventure I went with Alexis and her grandma. I'm so enchanted by the whole story. It's really hard to put this book down.

Through the story written by Daryl Kho, I can imagine how the magical world is. I get immersed by his writing, the character, the mythical folklore, the illustration that included with. It just so magically in love with the story! I can't recommend you enough other than do read this book! I mean it!
