Sally Hepworth, the author of The Mother-In-Law delivers a knock-out of a novel about the lies that bind two sisters in The Good Sister.
There's only been one time that Rose couldn't stop me from doing the wrong thing and that was a mistake that will haunt me for the rest of my life.
Fern Castle works in her local library. She has dinner with her twin sister Rose three nights a week. And she avoids crowds, bright lights and loud noises as much as possible. Fern has a carefully structured life and disrupting her routine can be...dangerous.
When Rose discovers that she cannot get pregnant, Fern sees her chance to pay her sister back for everything Rose has done for her. Fern can have a baby for Rose. She just needs to find a father. Simple.
Fern's mission will shake the foundations of the life she has carefully built for herself and stir up dark secrets from the past, in this quirky, rich and shocking story of what families keep hidden.

Review
I think I'm still trying to digest what had happened!
Fern and Rose are fraternal twins. Both of them has opposite characters and personality. Despite that, they both are very close to each other. Rose is more an outgoing person while Fern is the opposite. Fern enjoys being in the library surrounded by books in which she becomes a librarian. Rose has been taking care of Fern since they were kids and she is very protective of her sister. So, when Fern finds out her sister couldn't get pregnant she thought she wants to help her. She decided to pregnant on her sister's behalf and the only thing is she need to do is find a father for her baby. Weird, doesn't it? But I think you should read to understand how Fern thinks and what will Fern do.
I love that this is a dual narration. We will know Fern's thoughts and Rose's thoughts through her diary log. It makes us understand more about both sides and how they feel and their thoughts. But I have to say I was on edge to trust who. I love Fern's character. She is sweet, quirky, and straightforward with her thoughts. While Rose... I mean she is a good sister but too protective to the point I'm kinda annoyed with her.
The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth is indeed a gripping story that keeps you on edge and you kind of not expected that would happen. The twist really blew my mind. Hepworth has written an intense story that is very intriguing and hard to put the book down. Once you start reading, you keep wanting more and only to know you have almost finished reading it. I'm highly recommended for you to read this one!
