Who are you, if you can't be what you always expected? A moving coming-of-age tale of prodigy and community, unlikely friendship and growing things.

Twelve-year-old Rose Brutigan has grown seven inches in the last eight months. She's always been different from her twin brother, Thomas, but now she towers over him in too many ways. The gap in their interests continues to widen as well. Musically talented Rose is focused on winning the upcoming Bach Cello Suites Competition, while happy-go-lucky Thomas has taken up the challenge of growing a giant pumpkin in the yard of their elderly neighbor, Mr. Pickering. But when a serious accident changes the course of the summer, Rose is forced to grow and change in ways she never could have imagined. Along the way there's tap dancing and classic musicals, mail-order worms and neighborhood-sourced compost, fresh-squeezed lemonade, the Minnesota State Fair -- and an eclectic cast of local characters that readers will fall in love with.

Review

Let me honest with you, it been more than 2 months I feel like I'm dragging myself to feel good which is not that easy. Cried my hearts out won't change a thing, right? So, I pick a book that is really near to me just so I could bring myself to a good adventure like I used to and I am so glad that this book bring myself out from the unknown world. Not 100% but I feel better now. Giant Pumpkin Suite is a book that is dear to me now.

Rose a twelve-year old is a remarkable cello player, she skipped her grade and her goal is to win the upcoming Bach Cello Suites Competition. While her twin brother, Thomas has a normal life, doing her daily activities as usual. One day, their neighbour Mr. Pickering fallen down from the basement stairs which Thomas decide to take care of growing Mr. Pickering's giant pumpkin on the yard. This has course a changes in their life and Thomas has ask for Rose's aid to help him taking care of the pumpkin as well. Although she was hesitant at first but she give in and help Thomas.

Over the time, from the story, we can see Rose's transition which is so heartwarming to know that and it makes my heart feel full for both Rose and Thomas. It's an adorable story although it has a slow pace but I love the way it is. It feels like I'm there to witness their wonderful days. I enjoy the story as much as I can. At the beginning might be hard to process however you will grow fond of it eventually.
