Synopsis
Archie McBudge knows his lucky underpants must really work because when he and his mum are summoned to Honeystone Hall in the remote Scottish village of Dundoodle, they find Archie has inherited not only the enormous hall, but the whole of the world-famous McBudge Confectionery Company from Great-Uncle Archibald. That's a new home, a fortune and a lifetime's supply of treats rolled into one!
But all is not well in Dundoodle, and when Archie reads the mysterious letter his great-uncle left him he finds himself on a quest to save his family's company from ruin. With the help of his new friends Fliss and Billy, Archie has to try to figure out the puzzles of Honeystone before his sweet future melts away like an ice lolly in the sun!

Archie McBudge, he has no idea he is an heir to the world-famous McBudge Fudge Confectionary Company (we are talking about lots of chocolate and sweet treats, here!). He always thought that it is a beautiful coincidence to have the same name. Only to know that his great-Uncle Archibald has left all his earthly possessions to Archie. That include great-Uncle Archibald's fortune, business holdings, and associated properties. In other words, he owns the McBudge Fudge Company! Not only that, his uncle also left him a quest for Archie to prove he is worthy of the name McBudge.
Here is the thing, I have no idea how am I supposed to put this into words because I really enjoy reading The Chocolate Factory Ghost. We are talking about lots of chocolates, sweet treats, magical things, dragons and, following a journey along with Archie and his two friends who he met at the Honeystone Hall in finding a clue for the quest that he great-uncle Archibald left for him. Of course, during the quest, there is villain character who has been eyeing to inherit McBudge Fudge fortune and someone that I have no idea an evil too. Uh uh, not going to reveal who. Ops!
Archie, although he is still young to manages the world-famous McBudge Company but during the quest, we can see he is definitely a perfect heir to manage the company. He is brave and takes careful steps before makes any decision.
And then, we have Fliss. She has a strong and loud character. However, at first, I am a bit skeptical with Fliss, thinking that she might be blocking Archie's quest but I was wrong. She has helped Archie in every way she can and contribute her time and idea to complete the quest. She is really a great friend to Archie.
Next. we have Billy. A weird boy who he is into a supernatural thing and he is definitely has a lot of knowledge to share about the town and the castle. Despite being weird, I like his character. He is too a great friend to Archie.
I cannot say how much I have enjoyed my reading The Chocolate Factory Ghost because of it so good and I have a great time reading it. With the villain characters and a mystery town, it makes a great taste in reading this book. The author has written such an amazing book and I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to read this book. For that, I am definitely looking forward to the next book written by David O'Connell. I am sure all the kids (even young adults and adults!) are going to enjoy reading The Chocolate Factory Ghost too.
