thoughts

Honestly said, I was dragging myself from writing the review after I finish reading The Flower Girls last week. The story stays with me until this day. Now that I have said that, let me brief you a bit about this story without spoiling it too much.

The story follows with two sisters name Laurel and Primrose. Just like any other sister/girl who enjoys playing outside with their parents' permission. However, one day, while playing outside together both of them committed a crime that nobody ever imagines why. They abducted a toddler aged two years old with a reason to play with her and the baby been murdered. For that, they have been caught and Laurel - a 10 years old girl has been sentenced to jail while her sister, Primrose age 6 years old has been given a new identity that is Hazel Archer along with her parents and moved away to a place no one knows about them at all.

It is emotionally disturbing about how could a kid at such a very young age could commit such a crime. It was...I just..it is honestly hard to put this into words. They are still young, innocent girls and I were speechless because honestly, I thought, maybe someone else did that. But I was absolutely wrong. The story is so intense but you want to stay still to get through every page to know what happened and how it happened, what drives the person to do such thing and the most important thing is, who actually did that. It was uncomfortable reading this but the story has gripped me and I need to know the whole story about the 'The Flower Girls' and then towards the ending of the story has my mouth hang open like 'WHATTT?!!". Get what I feel? Although the ending does not equally satisfy me much because it should be more but still, it is shocking when you know what happened.

This book really plays with my emotion (and it might be you too).

I may not read many thriller/crime fiction book before but I would say that this book is really put you on the edge of your sit that keeps you wondering why/who/what and how it happened, the story is something that you have not expected it to be and it will shock you just like it did to me and I was mad at one of them, no, both of them. The two sisters, I mean.

The author has written such an intense story that is hard to forget just like written on the book cover "You will never forget". The Flower Girls is evoking interest in you although it may not an easy to read but the plot has driven you in. For the fans and/or if you want to try reading a thriller/crime fiction this book might be one for you to read.
