Balancing epic and intensely personal stakes, bestselling author Adam Silvera’s Infinity Son is a gritty, fast-paced adventure about two brothers caught up in a magical war generations in the making.
Growing up in New York, brothers Emil and Brighton always idolized the Spell Walkers—a vigilante group sworn to rid the world of specters. While the Spell Walkers and other celestials are born with powers, specters take them, violently stealing the essence of endangered magical creatures.
Brighton wishes he had a power so he could join the fray. Emil just wants the fighting to stop. The cycle of violence has taken a toll, making it harder for anyone with a power to live peacefully and openly. In this climate of fear, a gang of specters has been growing bolder by the day.
Then, in a brawl after a protest, Emil manifests a power of his own—one that puts him right at the heart of the conflict and sets him up to be the heroic Spell Walker Brighton always wanted to be.
Brotherhood, love, and loyalty will be put to the test, and no one will escape the fight unscathed.

I have heard so many wonderful things about Adam Silvera's and when I saw this book in the parcel I was so excited to get into it. Many had said this is the first fantasy book written by Adam Silvera that makes me curious how this going to be even more fantasy is definitely many favourite. From the blurbs itself sounds fantastic and the cover is a plus! Beautiful book cover.
However, this is the hardest for me to even write one. How should I even begin? Don't worry I won't spoil anything because my experience from reading this book will/might be different from you. This is solely what I felt from reading the book and what is my honest point of view. That is that. Here goes nothing. Throughout 70% of the book, I still couldn't figure out what is what and which is which and I'm still confused who is each of the characters. To be honest, I was so confused throughout the reading.
The world-building was...I'm not sure. Here's the thing, the ideas, all the elements were there even so I felt that it didn't really full executed in the story. I love the fact that there is something magical, kind of having a Harry Potter + the mortal instruments vibe and phoenixes but I guess it didn't work out much.
All in all, I guess this one won't work with me but it might work with you. So, please do not get affected by my review. Different people have different tastes. In all honesty, I truly want to love this book because I love the idea of the story. Youtube, Buzzfeed in this fantasy world-building with Celestial, Spell Walkers, and more in this story. Heck, that one really interests me.
