This is playlist is all about love.
No love song is exactly the same as the one that came before it.
There's the heartsick pop of a sarcastic boy with an unrequited rush.
There's the gentle lullaby of Valentine's Day, as seen through the eyes of someone who wakes up in a new body every day.
There's the tentavie melody of two boys stranded on a snow day.
In 19 Love Songs, David Levithan makes a playlist of stories, verse and illustrations. Celebrating love in all its forms, there's something for every reader to cherish.
Review
I'm not sure why I pick this book way too late. Kinda disappointed with myself a bit for picking it up late. I'm excited that the past weeks I have been in a great mood to pick every books I haven't read yet. I really appreciate that Pansing has given many wonderful titles. Although, I'm a bit slow read but now it is all good. Okay, back to the story.
19 Love Songs is a short stories that been compiled by David Levithan. I have read his past books and very much enjoy it. Thank you to my sister for introducing his work to me. Just a head up, there is one of his book has been adapted into a movie. Anyway, 19 Love Songs is full of love. It is a story that centered around love. Friendship love, relationship love, family love and more. Main point is love. Some of the stories are sad, some are happy but overall, it feel contented. It was written beautifully with different structure. Some are a bit short-long chapter, some in verse, some like a diary's writing kind of way. Despite different structure, I am so into it and I couldn't stop reading each of the stories. I felt so connected with each of the stories.
Overall, this is my favourite short stories which I might pick it up again in the future. It's heartwarming, lovely and enjoyable story that I will never forget. Don't worry the story is standalone and you won't get confused at all. I totally recommend this book to you.
